UpCounsel charges a fee to their marketplace attorneys for work done on their platform.
Attorneys pay a processing fee after clients provide payment on the UpCounsel platform. Depending on the nature of the transaction, the fees can range from 3.5% (simple payment processing fee) up to 20% (covering payment processing fee + collections/billing/guaranteed payment services).
Once an invoice is sent to the client, the client has 2 weeks to review before UpCounsel automatically debit their account. Once the invoice is approved, you'll receive a deposit within 3-5 business days after the payment has been remitted. Typically it takes 1-3 days for credit card payments to fully process & transfer and 3-5 business days for ACH payments to fully process & transfer.
